Beeswax Thread Conditioner

I use bees wax to ‘love’ my thread when hand-sewing.

Loving thread or embroidery floss is the act of repeatedly pulling your thread across a cake of wax to coat the surface of the thread. This keeps the thread from tangling when sewing and also makes it easier to thread your needle.

Diane and Damon, of Hawk Dance Farm in Hillsdale NY make these special, generously sized, wax thread conditioner cakes for us. The organic, 100% natural beeswax smells divine and gives a nice finish to any cotton, hemp or linen sewing thread.
